About HaveNotes

The owner's guide for the tech you already have

Most product manuals are written before you've actually used the thing. They cover the box contents and the safety warnings, then leave you to figure out the part that actually matters: what to do when the battery drains faster than it should, why a setting is hidden three menus deep, or which quirks are normal and which mean something's wrong. HaveNotes exists to fill that gap.

What you'll find here

Every product page on HaveNotes is built to answer the questions real owners actually ask: setup steps that go beyond the box insert, battery and performance tips, common problems and fixes, and a running Q&A where owners help each other out. We link back to official manufacturer resources where they're useful, rather than trying to replace them.

How our guides get made

We maintain guides for the most-searched products ourselves, and we use Anthropic's Claude AI, combined with public research, to automatically draft starter guides for products that aren't covered yet — so a search for something obscure still gets you a useful answer in minutes instead of nothing at all. We're upfront that these starter guides are AI-assisted: they're meant as a solid first draft, and they improve over time as real owners weigh in through comments and community answers. Product photos come only from Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, under their open licenses.

How HaveNotes stays free

Every guide on HaveNotes is free to read, with no account required. The site is supported by lightweight, clearly labeled advertising and — where relevant — affiliate links on "where to buy" recommendations, which can earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. You can read the specifics on our Disclaimer page.

Who's behind it

HaveNotes is an independent, small project — not a manufacturer, retailer, or affiliate of the brands whose products we cover. We built it because we were tired of digging through forums and outdated manuals for a straight answer, and we figured other owners were too.
